Bellamy Brothers' Anthology, Volume 1 to Feature Duet With Legendary British Artist Sir Cliff Richard
European Release Set For Nov. 23
(Nashville, TN - Oct. 5, 2009)
The Bellamy Brothers will release The Anthology, Volume 1 on Nov.
23, a collection that features 13 No. 1 hits and several new songs,
including a duet with legendary artist Sir Cliff Richard.
"We
met Cliff when he was in Nashville for a songwriting seminar," says
David Bellamy. "We were already big fans of his because we'd
heard so much of his music around the world through our years of
touring. The hits in the U.S. like 'Devil Woman' and 'Suddenly,'
his duet with Olivia Newton John, have always been favorites of ours."
The single-disc set, produced by
brothers Howard and David and released on Bellamy Brothers Records, is
a career-spanning collection of songs from their prolific 35-year
career, including hits such as "Let Your Love Flow," "Old Hippie," "If
I Said You Had a Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me)," "Kids
of the Baby Boom" and "For All the Wrong Reasons." The duet with
Richard, "I Could Be Persuaded," is a new collaboration with the famed
British singer-songwriter.
"Cliff
Richard is an artist David and I really wanted to record with, and
we're proud to have him on our Anthology album," says Howard
Bellamy. "From the days of Cliff Richard and the Shadows
to the present, he's always had a fresh approach to making new
music, while remaining true to his musical legend. He has the kind
of career most artists can only dream of."
Among the handful of new songs from
Anthology, Vol. 1 is the Top 40 single, "Guilty of the Crime," recorded
with fellow sibling act The Bacon Brothers. Both sets of brothers
performed together on the legendary Grand Ole Opry stage on September 1
in Nashville.
The Bellamy Brothers have enjoyed a
career that has produced 14 No. 1 hits, international tours in 65
different countries, and commercial success on both the Country and Pop
charts. A second volume in the Anthology series and a biography
are due for release next year. Anthology, Volume 1 is currently
available at iTunes, www.BellamyBrothers.com
and most online digital retailers. The physical album is
scheduled for release in Europe on Nov. 23.
The Bellamy Brothers are currently on tour through the end of 2009. Visit www.BellamyBrothers.com for more information.
